DAY 1 :
ANTANANARIVO – ANTSIRABE 170 KM +/- 4h
Departure by car to Antsirabe, the city of water;
This first day will offer you a surprising view of the rice field panoramas and the unique landscapes, both rocky and mountainous, of the Central Highlands;
Enjoy the originality of traditional earth houses with thatched or tiled roofs;
Lunch in Antsirabe and hotel check-in;
The afternoon is dedicated to short visits and a pousse-pousse ride;
Antsirabe is a historic city. The colonial buildings recall its glorious past, marked by French colonization. Indeed, there are buildings with strong French inspiration, an avenue lined with oak trees, and the rustic and majestic Hôtel des Thermes. At that time, the city was called “the Vichy Gasy” thanks to its thermal resources with therapeutic properties. As a city of art, workshops will be visited to see gemstone carving, zebu horn craft for decorative accessories, and miniature pousse-pousse making;
Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 :
ANTSIRABE – MIANDRIVAZO 220 km by road, approx. 5 hours
Departure to Miandrivazo, the starting point for canoe descents on the Tsiribihina River.
Along the way, discover the volcanic landscape of Antsirabe with its striking mountain cones. Antsirabe is the granary of the Analamanga region. Enjoy the magnificent views of the terraced rice fields;
Lunch in Mandoto;
Arrival in Miandrivazo and hotel check-in;
It is in this village that provisions for the river descent are purchased;
Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 :
MIANDRIVAZO – MASIAKAMPY – CANOE DESCENT 20 km on road and 10 km on track, approx. 1h20
Morning canoe embarkation to navigate along the Tsiribihina River. This river cruise offers several interesting stops amid the wild nature of Menabe. Weather permitting, we may observe the famous Verreaux’s sifaka lemur, as well as chameleons and kingfishers in the riverside vegetation;
After crossing impressive cliffs, we will enter an idyllic setting with a beautiful waterfall and a natural pool inviting a refreshing swim;
Continuing the cruise, we will reach a nearby village to spend the night;
Camp setup on the white sandy riverbank.

After breakfast, there will be a short walk to meet the riverside communities living in the small villages along the bank (Begidro village);
This second day of the Tsiribihina River descent offers magical landscapes in an incredible natural setting;
This journey along the river provides the opportunity to observe endemic bird species, such as herons and whistling ducks;
Along the way, we will discover bats hanging from the large cliffs and pass through a tobacco plantation;
Overnight outdoors in a tent on a vast white sandy riverbank.

DAY 5 :
CANOE DESCENT – ANTANAMBAO – BELO – BEKOPAKA 156 km on track, approx. 6 hours
After spending an authentic moment with the local communities, we resume our journey early in the morning to reach Belo sur Tsiribihina;
During this continuation of the river descent, we will have the opportunity to see a baobab forest.
Departure by 4x4 to Belo sur Tsiribihina, continuing the route to Bekopaka to explore the Tsingy;
Ferry crossing over the Manambolo River, arrival in Bekopaka.
Overnight in a tent.

DAY 6 :
THE GREAT TSINGY 34 km on track round trip, approx. 4 hours
Morning departure by 4x4 to reach the spectacular Grands Tsingy of Bemaraha, 17 km from Bekopaka. We will have plenty of time to appreciate the astonishing beauty of this unique landscape made up of Tsingy peaks;
The Grands Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park are classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The most remarkable part of this walking tour is mainly the suspension bridge crossing, a popular spot for photos;
We will explore caves that show evidence of human presence in very ancient times (Andamozavaky Circuit, 4-hour hike);
Return to Bekopaka village at noon for lunch;
In the afternoon, we will visit the Petit Tsingy, better known for the “Andadoany Circuit.” The walking tour invites a small expedition and allows us to discover the resources and heritage of the Tsingy. You will enjoy impressive scenery with extraordinary relief and deep canyons. This route includes a botanical walk through a dense dry forest;
Overnight in a tent.

DAY 7 :
BEKOPAKA – MORONDAVA 220 km on track, approx. 7 hours
After breakfast, departure for a long journey on track to Morondava;
Ferry crossing over the Manambolo River;
Lunch in Belo sur Tsiribihina at Karibo Restaurant;
Early afternoon ferry embarkation to cross the famous Tsiribihina River;
Upon arrival, we will stop at the mystical Sacred Baobab and the Lovers’ Baobab, the two famous baobabs along the way—a remarkable sight worthy of a postcard photo;
Continue to Morondava in the afternoon to enjoy the spectacular sunset on Baobab Avenue;
Overnight at the hotel chosen by the client.
